Here are the minutes of the last Troop 81 committee
meeting on February 17th, 2005.

Minutes:
0. Campout presentation for March campout (Camporee)
   
    The plan was presented. The campout will be
    at James Ray Scout Reservation on March 18-20th.
    The theme of this year's camporee is "Into the Woods".

1. Upcoming calendar events

   Feb 21 - Troop meeting - Campout planning and
               OA elections, and Philmont payment due ($222.50).
   Feb 23rd - Fund raising dinner at Nedley's Restaurant.
          (at 1801 Plano road, and http://www.nedleys.com)
       Dinner is from 5:30PM-9:00PM.
       Let the waiter know you are with Troop 81
   Feb 25-27 - Pre-camporee Campout - Camp Wisdom
   Feb 28th -  Screen "A Time to Tell" video for Troop
                  at 7:00PM in Sanctuary
 
2. Treasurer - Kathy Dumanski

    Kathy provided the financial report for January.
 
3. PLC - Jimmy McCarthy

    The agenda for the next PLC is to do the
    camporee planning
        -- Jesse Benavides is to communicate our Troop's
       plan for managing an event
    Next PLC is on Feb 28th at 6:00PM

4. Roundtable - Craig Christensen

   Help is being sought on a Potato bagging
   and distribution service project for Feb 27th.
   (Conflicts with our campout)  Call Todd Bristow

   A one day merit badge college is planned for Saturday
   March 26th at UTD.  Registration and details can be

   Venture Crew 73 is recruiting (Their activities include
   Amateur Radio, High Technology and Public Service.

5. Camping - Dennis McCarthy
    o Feb 25-27: Pre-camporee, Camp Wisdom (Shark)
            Inviting webelos for day activities
    o Mar 18-20: Camporee, Camp James Ray
    o Apr 15-17: Family campout, Bonham State Park
    o May 14-16: Canoeing Campout, Worth Ranch (Badger)
    o July 5-18: Philmont 2005
         Next payments due to Philmont:
         February 21, 2005 - $222.50
 
        We still have slots open for any
        interested Scouts and Adults.  However,
        time is running out.  If interested contact
        John Benavides.
 
    o July 10-16: Summer camp - Brian Moore
    o Seabase 2006:  Brian Moore

       Brain signed us up for Seabase 2006 lottery.
       He registered for two sailing boats and one scuba boat.

    o Northern Tier 2006: Dennis McCarthy
             Lottery on April 1
 
6. Meetings - Bob Centola

    Fund raiser at Nedley's on February 23rd.

7. Leadership - Rick Montgomery

   Rick reported that he had seven scouts
   participate in his Junior leader training
   two Saturdays ago.

   Oak Leaf Training is Saturday, April 23-24th
   at Camp James Ray For information contact:

   Rick will coordinate the distribution of forms in April.

   Golden Acorn, advanced leadership training sign-up has
   started.  This is a week long training course.

10. Misc
  Approval of new adult leaders will take place at the Feb 21st
  scout meeting.  Here is the slate of officers selected
  by the nomination committee:

  Craig plans to do scoutmaster conferences outside of
  Troop meeting nights because they are less rushed
  and more effective.  Scouts should schedule a time
  with Mr. Christensen when they are ready for a SM
  conference.
